Arts &
Education

Buffalo AKG Art Museum

Project goal.
Reimagine the Museum with the community at its core, working towards its vision of flourishing as an exceptional hub of artistic and creative energies that enriches and transforms people’s lives in our community, our nation, and the world.
Progress.
As current Board President of the Museum, Alice led the seven-year historic transformation and campus expansion, encompassing a $230 million capital campaign, the largest such campaign for a cultural institution in the history of Western New York. She was the driving force behind the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility (IDEA) initiative, strategic planning, various fundraising events, and the establishment of a local Community Council and the National Council.

Women's
Leadership

ALL IN: Women Leading. Communities Succeeding.

Project goal.
Form a unique model using data and best practices to make WNY a premier place for women and gender minorities to live, work & lead.
Progress.
As a founding Board Member and past Board President, Alice helped form the WNY Women’s Foundation’s ALL IN Initiative out of the need to address all areas impacting professional women. Using gender equity as an entry point, ALL IN uses a unique model with an intersectional approach to evaluating employers’ success and sustainability. ALL IN partners gain valuable data to provide tangible examples of progress to their regulators, investors, funders, communities, and employees.

Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum: WNY Women Making History

Project goal.
Garner excitement and funding for the building of the SAWHM while connecting & uplifting the history and future of local women.
Progress.
In partnership with NYS Majority Leader and SAWHM Council Member Crystal People’s Stokes, a committee was created with a specific matrix around age, personal and professional interests, geography, and race. The Women Making History Network, founded in WNY, is now the museum’s regional committee program, and it is a nationwide network of volunteer leaders who function as ambassadors and fundraisers for the museum. Volunteer co-chairs lead active committees in Western New York and Michigan and serve on a National Steering Panel.
